Foxy Bingo is once again at the forefront of what could be an online bingo revolution. Well, kind of. The guys have recently signed up to a huge sponsorship deal with Smooth Radio, which will see the guys launch a multimedia summer marketing extravaganza. It’s a real first for an online bingo site – and we’ve got a special report for you right after the jump!

Foxy Bingo is one the UKs most well-known online bingo sites with a cheeky mascot and plenty of bingo action. The site used to be operated by 888 and was a Cassava bingo site before switching to Cozy Games. Both bingo networks are popular and are sure to provide a wonderful online gaming experience. Responsible Gambling.

The main drawback to standalone bingo sites is found with some of the smaller standalone sites, which can suffer from very quiet periods and cancelled jackpot games in the worst instances. However, this just isn’t a problem for sites like Foxy Bingo and Tombola, who have thousands and thousands of regular players.

The deal sees the Foxy Bingo team join forces with two separate shows on Smooth Radio and Real Radio. Foxy will be sponsoring the afternoon show with David Jensen (from 1-4pm), followed by the evening show with David Heane (8pm-12am). During the shows, Foxy Bingo slots will announce info on latest winners, games and promos at Foxy Bingo. There’s a multimedia aspect as well – daily bingo games are gonna be launched that allow Smooth Radio listeners to access an exclusive portal in their website that will take them through to exclusive £250 free bingo games. Running for 13 weeks, the partnership is thought to be worth a six-figure sum, and will see Foxy Bingo reach out to a huge audience of 25-59 year olds.

It’s not the first time Foxy have pulled something a little leftfield out of the bag. Lest we forget their recent foray into fragrances with the oh so kitsch “Foxy Furever”, which saw the Fox team up with Lauren Goodger of TOWIE fame no less. And if you’re a regular reader to these humble pages, you’ll be sure to remember our recent article on Foxy Radio, the already established online station that broadcasts every Tuesday and Thursday and offers up plenty of cash and bonus prizes alongside your requests.

Indeed, other bingo sites like Game Village bingo have also tried their hand at radio, but the difference is that this time, Foxy Bingo are sponsoring, rather than creating their own radio show. The deal will mean a more mainstream audience will get to hear all about Foxy Bingo, alongside winning £250 free bingo prizes exclusively via Smooth Radio.

It’s an interesting turn in the on-going sponsorship trend that’s been hitting online bingo for quite some time now. In the battle to gain our attention, online bingo sites have been partnering up with anyone they could possibly strike a deal with, alongside the usual TV ads. Foxy Bingo owner Cashcade were one of the first to think of such a thing – with Foxy Bingo partnering up with the Jeremy Kyle show way back when to tout their wares. Think Bingo and Cheeky Bingo quickly followed suit, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Since then, we’ve seen everything from Wink Bingo sponsoring Harry Hill and The Only Way is Essex to Tombola Bingo teaming up with Sunderland FC. Tombola Bingo has been one of the real competitors to Foxy Bingo’s sponsorship crown, with the guys’ partnership with Emmerdale really offering online bingo players some added value. Tombola Bingo roomies were invited to star in the sponsorship slots, and you can still reap the benefits of their successful partnership. Through competitions on the Tombola Bingo website, Emmerdale fans can win top prizes like VIP trips around the set and meeting the cast and crew.

But with so many bingo sites now on TV and using sponsorship slots to boost their own ratings, it seems online bingo is now turning to the radio waves to get our attention, and it’s easy to see why. Potential players could get a bit frustrated with the online bingo overkill on our screens – and add to that a recent relaxation in radio advertising laws, plus the increased length of radio shows versus TV shows and it seems radio is the next logical step. The real question is – where on earth will online bingo sites go next in the battle for our hearts and wallets?!
